Networks for Methodological Innovation - The Network will be launched on 25th October 2011.

The European Research Area in Ageing (ERA-AGE 2) has just published an open call for research proposals on Active and Healthy Ageing Across the Life Course.

Members of the Ages and Stages research team, together with participants in the study, were invited to speak about the project with his Royal Highness, The Earl of Wessex, KG GCVO, when he visited Keele University on Tuesday May 3^rd 2011.

The NDA was strongly represented at the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics's European Region Congress in Bologna 14-17 April 2011. 

An exhibition which stemmed from the NDA project 'A Grey and Pleasant Land?' is showcasing photographs and interviews focusing on the lives of older members of travelling communities.

The ESRC is pleased to announce that the ESRC Festival of Social Science for 2011 will run from 29 October to 5 November 2011 and applications to participate in the Festival are now welcome.

‘Ages and Stages’ team host Canadian colleagues

On Monday 5th July 2010 a workshop took place just prior to the British Society of Gerontology Conference at Brunel University. 

The annual Alan Walker prize for outstanding contribution to British Social Gerontology has been awarded to Tessa Harding MBE. The award ceremony took place during the annual BSG conference in September at the University of the West of England.

Twelve projects are to share £3 million in new grants to support research into improving the quality of life of the elderly.
