ESRC White Rose PhD Studentships

Theree linked PhD studentships are available from the academic year 20011/2012 under the broad theme: Social exclusion of older people with dementia: processes, approaches and methods through the ESRC White Rose Doctoral Training Centre, a collaboration between the Universitoes of Leeds, York and Sheffield. A multidisciplinary approach will be employed to examine social includion/exclusion pertinent to the well-being of people with dementia, focussing on the following topics:

Examining changes in social relationships and networks with onset and exacerbation of impairment. Informal enquiries to: Mary Godfrey, University of Leeds

Exploring uses of digital technologies to facilitate social engagement of older people with early stage dementia; investigating methods of non-veral communication to ensure inclusion of those with moderate/severe dementiain research.
