Accessibility

The NDA website has been built with accessibility in mind. Not only is this about providing good access to users with disabilities utilising assistive technologies such as screenreaders, but to provide good access to as many people as possible across as many different browsing environments as possible...

Text Size

The site is built using relative font sizes, this means that the user can take advantage of the many built-in browser tools that exist in order to control the text size. For instance, in Internet Explorer and FireFox text-sizing is available via the View » Text Size menu.

Alt text & Titles

All non-decorative images utilise the alt attribute to provide descriptive text alternatives and, where appropriate, descriptive title attributes have been added to links providing a fuller description of the destination page.

Javascript

There is no reliance upon client-side scripting (javascript) for functionality as a percentage of users have this disabled. The site contains no popup windows, or client-side form validation. In fact, the site contains no javascript at all.

Built to standards

The NDA website is built to W3C specifications. We aim to make all XHTML and CSS valid, and to follow the WAI accessibility guidelines.

Browser Compatibility

The site has been thoroughly tested in many modern browsers on Windows, MacOS and Linux. It is also built to "degrade gracefully" in older browsers. This means it may not look the same, but all the information in the site will still be accessible. We are always looking to improve the site, so if you encounter any problems please get in touch.
